The Truth About AI in Real Estate: What It Does—and What You Still Need
We hear a lot about AI these days. It’s in our phones, our cars, our newsfeeds. And now, it’s in real estate too. It can predict home values, find listings, run numbers, and even suggest what your home might be worth.
So, it’s fair to ask: Do we still need a real person to help us buy or sell a home?
The short answer? Absolutely. But let me explain why.
AI is Smart. But It Doesn’t Know You.
AI is great at one thing: sorting through a lot of data really fast. It can tell you what homes sold in your area, how prices are trending, and what interest rates might be doing. It can even help suggest what price to list your home at, or what offer to make.
But here’s what it can’t do: understand your life.
AI doesn’t know that you’re moving because your parents need to live closer.
It doesn’t know your toddler is ready for a backyard, or that the stairs in your current house make you nervous now.
It doesn’t know your timeline, your comfort level, or how the wrong decision could cost you time, money, or peace of mind.
I do.
You Deserve More Than Numbers
Real estate isn’t just about bedrooms and square feet. It’s about timing, emotions, and real-life transitions. There are a hundred little things that matter that no algorithm can measure. These are things I’ve learned through years of walking families through this process.
AI can suggest a plan.
I help you make the right plan.
That means pointing out a red flag in a contract, finding the lender who understands your unique needs, and helping you decide when it’s better to wait, or when it’s wise to act quickly.
The Tools Are Good—But You Still Need A Wise Driver
Yes, I use technology. I use it to help gather insights, review trends, and check behind the scenes. But I don’t hand you a computer printout and wish you luck. I interpret the tools for you. I help you apply it to your actual situation.
Think of it this way: you can check WebMD if you have a fever, but when something really matters, you still call your doctor.
That’s how I see my role.
The tools give us data. I offer discernment.
AI Doesn’t Comfort You at the Kitchen Table
You don’t just need facts. You need clarity.
You need someone who listens.
You need someone who can tell when you’re overwhelmed, who can break things down in a way that makes sense, and who gives you space to make decisions without pressure.
I’m here as that guide.
What AI Might Get Right—And What It Misses
✅ AI can tell you a neighborhood’s average price per square foot.
🚫 But it can’t tell you why one home sold for less because the neighbor plays drums at midnight.
✅ It can rank homes based on filters.
🚫 But it doesn’t know that the fourth house on the list actually has the best natural light for your plants.
✅ It can show you school ratings.
🚫 But it can’t sit with you and talk through how close you want to be to your grandkids.
In A Nutshell . . .
AI is impressive. It’s fast. It’s getting smarter every day. And I welcome it as a tool that helps me serve you better.
But here’s the bottom line: you deserve more than a tool.
You deserve someone who sees the full picture, who understands the season of life you’re in and what really matters to you and your family. Someone who slows down fast and helps you with clarity.
